I’d agree that there’s no one like Levi Stubbs. Levi Stubbs is my ultimate hero. However, Stevie Wonder comes a very, very close second.
Levi Stubbs is one of the greatest voices ever, along with Ronald Isley, Roger Chapman, Peter Hammill and maybe another dozen or so.
No-one gets close.
Where are the great original voices of the last 30 years ?
NOWHERE. They haven’t happened.
The Four Tops were the greatest.
He is and was the very best, and gave such meaning to the songs, always.
A year on since the world lost Mr Levi Stubbs…. but he will forever play on in our hearts and lives. God Bless Levi.

Well, if you don’t weep at this, your eyes are surely dried stones. Levi Stubbs, so sad he is gone.
We’ve seen and heard these guys thousands of times in our lives.Thanks to TV and the tight rotation of Top-40 radio in the 60’s, records and now, oldies stations and cd’s when we hear about a death, it’s a shock. “No, s/he can’t be dead, I just saw them on the tv!” The time passes so very fast, but the echo of their voices remains in our heads.We hear our favorites at odd hours of the day.You know he wanted to burn up the stage.

They were the soundtrack to mine and millions of other’s teenage years, Music that touches the soul, brings back amazing memories and will be enjoyed until the end of time. We love and miss you Levi

Tengo ya 52 años. Vivo en Chile, y recuerdo muchas lindas canciones que se tocaban en la Fuente de Soda más linda de Calama, una pequeña ciudad en medio del desierto chileno. Cómo no acordarme de The Four Tops y esa bella canción Reach out I´ll be there.
Hoy ví este video de Levi y sentí que esa es la vida misma.
