    after watching and reading almost all the comments posted here, I’m still confused if my iPhone 3Gs, version 3.1 can still be unlocked so I can use my sim other than AT&T? Is there a possibility that this model still can be unlocked? Thanks

    it needs unlocking to work with any sim card?like mtctouch or alfa?whats unlocking the iphone i know whats jailbreaking but im not sure i need to jailbreak my iphone when i buy it but i dont know iphone 3g or 3gs?wich one for jailbreaking(iphone 3gs is better i know)

    u can jailbreak your 3.1 iphone but it wont unlock
    look for pwnagetool for jailbreak but NOT UNLOCK

    hey,
    I have a New iphone 3g on firmware 3.0.1. I want to jailbreak it and unlock it. So I downloaded the 3.0 ipsw and tried doing it. I did evrything as you said and when it says connecting to itunes on my iphone and when red snow says waiting to reboot your iphone, the red snow program quits unexpectedly and the phone starts back normally. I tried this couple of times and its doing the same thing. Is it because I have the latest ITunes. What am I doing wrong and what can I do to fix it?

    Hi,
    Thanks for sharing but I have to tell you that this did not work for me.
    I have used: (UnlockYourAppleiPhone . Com) and my iPhone was unlocked in just a couple of minutes.
    Fast and easy. I can now fully enjoy my iPhone.

    iphone 3GS on 3.1 can’t be jailbroken right now. Please subscribe so you can stay updated, ill upload a video tutorial step by step the same day the dev team releases the 3.1 jailbreak.

    I just bought a 3GS a few weeks ago & I did the Apple update to 3.1 on Sept. 26th. My computer is Windows based. I want to jailbreak my phone, but I’ve been searching for step-by-step instructions & haven’t found any specifically for 3GS 3.1. Am I just a dinglebrain or is this not available yet? Thanks. :)

    here’s my question, so after unlcocking iphone, once i change my service to tmobile, can i still use all the apps(including google maps, youtube and other network services)?

    Eek, so I turned the power off and plugged it back in while holding the home button and the iTunes/USB icon thing popped up. Then, on redsn0w, it said “waiting for reboot.” However, it’s been stuck on that very spot for about an hour now. What do I do?

    try holding the home and power button until the phone restarts. Or put it in DFU mode and restore it. When redsn0w asks you to reboot the iPhone, you should manually restart it by holding the power button and sliding to power off.

    PLEASE HELP ME after i installed redsn0w it asked me to restart and I did but the phone never came back on again, even tryed restoring but that even didn’t work

    you will have to wait for the 3.1 jailbreak.
